Meal & Rest Periods: Los Angeles

Your Right to Adequate Break Time - Los Angeles Employees

If you are a California employee who is being worked ragged by your employer, you are not alone. To cut back on production costs, many California employers ask employees to do more work than they are able to perform in a standard 40 hour work week.

Frequently, employers give employees so much work that the only way for employees to keep up with their weekly tasks is to work off-the-clock or skip meal and rest breaks. Forcing employees to miss necessary meal and rest breaks is a clear violation of California wage and hour laws.

If you work in Los Angeles County and feel that your right to adequate meal and rest breaks has been violated, contact an experienced employment law attorney at Backstrom & Heinrichs. We litigate wage and hour class actions on behalf of employees throughout Los Angeles County.
